Biola LEARN (Lifelong Education and Resource Network) offers non-credit, fully online courses and certificates through Biola University.
The new and improved homepage for Biola LEARN.
The Biola LEARN platform initially launched with limited branding, and it primarily followed Biola University’s overall design system. As it grew, it was in need of a better user experience as well as a unique identity. My primary role on this project was leading the UX and design process. After creating the design mockups, the project moved into development, and I provide assistance when needed.
Mobile screenshots of the previous application design. Lacking a certain “pizzazz”.
The search feature was revamped in order to work seamlessly across desktop and mobile. We reorganized the overall course structure in order to repriotize the important elements. We were also able to add in the course image which helps create more interest.
We revamped the course overview experience in order to quickly engage users when they express interest in learning more about a course. The new design highlights the important information and invites users to explore additional content including a trailer, syllabus and FAQ.
In order to guide the user through the lesson, we added the course name and current section at the top. This helps users orient themselves as they navigate the course elements. The Previous Lesson and Next Lesson buttons were also emphasized for easier navigation.
